Lightning Creek Field Series

Join us in the heart of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem for the Lightning Creek Field Series! Our Field Series are led by experts in their respective fields and take place in one of the most beautiful parts of the world.

Wildflowers of Lightning Creek: A Day of Exploring

Lightning Creek is surrounded by wilderness and home to not only grizzlies, elk, and wolves, but also unique flora. Participants will explore the thriving subalpine wildflower ecosystem native to the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Come explore with us!

 
 
 

Adventure with Jake’s Horses

Join us for a remote wilderness experience on horseback with the comfort of our rustic cabins set in a picturesque montane meadow. This program features an overnight stay at Lightning Creek and the opportunity to ride through the beautiful forests, meadows, and mountain vistas of the Lee Metcalf Wilderness. Down time will be spent relaxing around the cabins with access to the creek, hiking trails, and communal space in the Lodge.

 
 
 

History & Geology of the Taylor Fork

Crosscut is excited to partner with Montana Outdoor Science School (MOSS) to offer a day of storytelling, human history, and reading the landscape through Lightning Creek’s unique geology. You’ll learn about the deep time history of this picturesque region.
